My professional journey began in Pakistan, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. During my early studies I developed a strong fascination with microelectronics and the role semiconductor technologies play in shaping modern systems and industries. This interest motivated me to pursue advanced studies in the field and eventually brought me to Germany.

I continued my education at the Technical University of Hamburg, where I completed a Master’s degree in Microelectronics and Microsystems. Wanting to deepen my understanding of RF systems and semiconductor technologies, I went on to pursue doctoral research at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen Nuremberg. My PhD work focused on RF microelectronics and in particular RF power technologies for emerging 4G wireless infrastructure. The work involved research on RF power amplifiers used in base station systems and gave me deep insight into the challenges of high performance RF semiconductor design and applications.

After completing my PhD, I joined Bell Labs where I worked on advanced research related to RF power amplifiers for 4G base stations. During this period I had the opportunity to evaluate various RF semiconductor technologies and solutions for next generation wireless infrastructure. This work strengthened my technical expertise but also sparked a curiosity about the commercial and strategic side of technology, particularly how innovative semiconductor solutions reach customers and become successful products in the market.

This interest eventually led me to a role at Freescale Semiconductors. There I worked closely with major European key accounts that were engaged in advanced wireless research and development. My role involved acting as a technical interface for strategic RF power projects and supporting customers in their system development efforts. At the same time I collaborated with large distribution partners and their field application engineering teams across Europe to expand the reach of RF power solutions. Through these activities new opportunities were developed in several application areas including RF cooking, industrial heating, laser systems, medical equipment, avionics, and defense technologies.

Later I joined Maxwell Technologies where I became involved in developing business opportunities for supercapacitor solutions, particularly within the automotive sector. At that time supercapacitors were emerging as an important technology in modern vehicle architectures, supporting applications in 12 volt, 48 volt, and high voltage systems. I worked closely with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and engineering service providers across Europe to build a strong pipeline of opportunities. Applications included start stop systems, active suspension, electric braking, power steering, and backup energy storage for autonomous functions.

This experience allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the automotive ecosystem and the collaboration between OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technology providers. In parallel I supported the growth of industrial market segments by working with regional distributors and system integrators on applications such as automated guided vehicles, Industry 4.0 systems, renewable energy, medical technology, and defense equipment.

During this period I also gained experience with certification and regulatory requirements for the European market. I led initiatives to ensure that Maxwell solutions met relevant European standards and compliance requirements, enabling their successful adoption in the region.

I later joined Sourceability, a technology focused startup working on the digitalization of the electronic component supply chain and new franchise distribution models. My role involved introducing new semiconductor suppliers to the European market. Many of these companies were relatively unknown in Europe but offered strong and competitive solutions in RF, power, analog and digital electronics as well as passive and interconnect technologies. This experience gave me valuable insight into building markets from the ground up and understanding how suppliers from different regions position their strengths when entering the European ecosystem.

Following this I joined Nexperia where I worked as Business Manager responsible for several product lines across automotive, industrial, MOSFET, and GaN technologies. I worked closely with major customers, internal sales teams, and product business units to identify growth opportunities, evaluate portfolio gaps, and develop strategies for market expansion and revenue growth.

Most recently I worked with Wise Integration, a deep technology startup developing innovative digital control solutions for GaN power devices. As Head of Global Business Development I was responsible for introducing these technologies to automotive customers, expanding industrial market opportunities, and establishing distribution strategies across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Over the course of my career I have worked across research laboratories, large semiconductor companies, and innovative startups. This experience has allowed me to see technology development from multiple perspectives including research, engineering, product marketing, and business development.

Through my consulting work I now help companies translate advanced technologies into successful market opportunities by supporting business development, product strategy, field application engineering activities, and market expansion initiatives.
